#OWNIT - Ada Hegerberg

Widely regarded as the greatest women’s footballer of all time, who better to inspire women in sport than Ada Hegerberg? Not only has she received the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year award twice, but she has achieved the incredible feat of scoring more goals than she has played games in her dazzling career.

As a trailblazer of the game, Hegerberg is an icon for female athletes across the globe and is the perfect ambassador for Puma and the #OWNIT campaign.

Speaking with Hegerberg, she tells us about her roots, her training routine and how football has always been her greatest passion. Negative attitudes towards female football players have never held her back, in fact, it’s been Hegerberg’s strongest motivation to change the game for the better. 

Ensuring women have the same opportunities as men is a goal that Hegerberg is always working towards. In her own words, “everybody has the same opportunity to dream big and to follow their dreams”. When winning the inaugural Women’s Ballon d’Or, a historical moment in sport, she claimed that the moment was bigger than herself; that it was a pivotal moment for all female athletes.
